Anyone who owns a dog will know what I mean. Your dog looks at you and, before you know it, you’ve reached for another treat. Because he’s so sweet, sits nicely or just happens to be standing next to you. We simply love to spoil our dogs.

It happens regularly at the office, too. You take your dog in for the day and everyone thinks it’s lovely. One colleague has brought a treat, and a moment later someone else pulls out a treat as well. Before you know it, your dog ends up with quite a few extra treats in a single day.

It’s all well-intentioned, of course, but all that small snacks do count. Before you know it, your dog will gradually put on a bit of weight. That’s not good for his fitness and health.
